The Synergy Industry Summit 2.0, held on September 16-17, 2024, in Hyvinkää, marked a significant milestone for the Finnish manufacturing industry. Hosted by Konecranes, a leader in industrial equipment and lifting solutions, the summit gathered industry experts, innovators, and key stakeholders to explore the future of manufacturing and promote co-creation.
The summit featured a blend of presentations, workshops, discussions, and ideas, offering numerous opportunities for networking and trust-building. It provided a unique setting for industry professionals to foster collaboration and innovation, ensuring a promising future for manufacturing in Finland.
This was the second time the summit brought together members of two DIMECC-led ecosystems: the Finnish Additive Manufacturing Ecosystem (FAME) and the Make in Finland Ecosystem, aiming to foster synergy and drive innovative strategies for the industry.
Summit Highlights:
- 112 Participants: Professionals and industry leaders came together to network, learn, and contribute to the future of the manufacturing sector.
- 48 Organizations: A diverse cross-section of the manufacturing ecosystem was represented, allowing attendees to share their insights and expertise.
- 3 Company Visits: Participants visited Konecranes’ state-of-the-art facilities and also had the opportunity to tour SSAB and Delva in Hämeenlinna, gaining valuable insights into advanced manufacturing processes.
The summit featured presentations from key speakers, including Claes Erixon of Konecranes, followed by insightful talks from Erkki Ahola (Technology Industries of Finland), Harri Kulmala (DIMECC Oy), and Sakari Karppinen (Business Finland). Mikael Haag and Markku Häivälä from Konecranes, along with Christian Sundman and Juha Päivike from Wärtsilä, also contributed to the discussions.
The summit included the Make in Finland ecosystem’s Expert Networks (ExNets) Kick-Off, covering key topics such as 1) machining, manufacturing and materials 2) design, assembly, quality and logistics 3) sustainability and health and safety as well as 4) data-driven manufacturing. These networks are set to drive future developments within the ecosystem, enhancing cooperation across various domains between experts from different levels of organizations.
Looking Ahead: Synergy Industry Summit 3.0
The success of Synergy Industry Summit 2.0 has set the stage for the next summit, already planned for 2025. Sandvik, the upcoming host from Turku, warmly invites all partners to join this collaborative event. The future of manufacturing is built on co-creation, and this summit series continues to drive that vision forward.
